What is the name of the little flower that is all over front lawns and elsewhere? Is it available in a seed?

Dear Redman, Sorry I didn't reply on line. After talking with you about this at the garden center, I didn't think I needed to reply on line... Well, Joe reminded me... what about the other readers, so here goes.
Stephen Brown, our hort. extention agent addressed this topic in the News Press last year. That pretty little ground cover weed, lavendar and looks like a miniature petunia, is considered highly invasive. I don't recall it's proper name, but I will research that and post it. Those of us who would gladly have it in our yard instead of sod, are out of luck because producing and selling most invasives is against the law.
Always good to hear from you, Jan
